The
River Bowl is the annual football game played
between Shasta High School and crosstown rival,
Enterprise. The annual game has been played for
over 50 years with Enterprise holding a slight
edge at 32 - 25 - 1. In 1993, the two coaches
came up with the idea to name it after the Sacramento
River, which flows through the middle of town,
and allow the winning team to hold the coveted
trophy for the entire year. Although coaches,
players, teachers, and students have changed,
the rivalry continues to be the highlight of the
football season for both schools.
