The Shasta High School Sports Boosters is a parent organization formed in 1971 to financially support each of the 17 Shasta High School student athletic programs (including 30 teams, freshman, JV and varsity) through various fundraising activities, which includes concession stand sales, an annual dinner auction, athletic events and community and business sponsorships. Last year the Boosters distributed over $39,000 in net revenue to our athletic teams for equipment and team expenses. At our Second Annual Dinner Auction held on November 15, 2008, we made just over $14,000 in proceeds to be distributed to our sports teams.
We are currently working on plans for our Third Annual Dinner Auction to be held November 14, 2009.
The Boosters also support our student athletes each year by awarding scholarships to eligible Shasta High School athletes who excelled not only on the field but in the classroom as well. In 2008 we awarded a total of $4,800 in scholarships to six eligible student-athletes (parent membership in the Boosters is required to be eligible to request a scholarship).
